Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Window Views La Provence, France

Mary the Teach, famous from the very successful Ruby Tuesday and Sepia Scenes photo memes has found yet another interesting subject to share. Windows and window views ...

Now this IS something up my alley, I LOVE windows and doors, and I photographed quite a lot of them while on holiday in Provence, which is in the South of France. Only four more weeks until we're there again, but so many of last year's pictures never got published. If I don't publish them now, they might be doomed to collect dust in my archives, which would be a shame, don't you think?

There will be a lot of new ones when I get back as I am counting the days until my new camera arrives. La Provence is after all a photographer's paradise! I really really can't wait!!!
Until then, this might be a lovely way to browse through my archives, and share some of that pretty French Provencal atmosphere.

These were taken in Beaumes de Venise, a little village not far from Vacqueras, and very well known for it's sweet Muscat wine. Only last year I discovered an olive oil mill much worth the visit, and I bought some delicious olive oil there. (Click the links if you're interested in learning more.)

There is more where that came from, I promise.
If you want to see more windows, hop over to Mary's newest blog, Window Views, and visit the other players.

The first one is my Fav.
What a beautiful and inviting, cosy place.
Lovely shots both of them!

@ Bill: If I can I always like to include a touch of colour in my pictures, yes.
@ Nicole: a tiny yet beautiful place. It is.

Oww, so beautiful window views! Sometimes it's good to look back into old archives to find hidden treasures. Have a great day, Jientje :)

Lovely windows! I always feel so odd pointing my camera at other people's homes. I keep expecting someone to run out and punch me in the nose!

@ Ilanadavita: Thank you!
@ Rosidah: Some never get published, and that's a shame!
@ Quilly: I don't have that with homes, but I feel odd pointing my camera at people, or children.

I take it that you had these prior to your camera incident? I love the last one but as usual they are all terrific :)

@ Thom: Those were taken with my very first little point and shoot Canon, last year in June.
The point and shoot got into a coma in London, and when I came back, my husband bought me the one I used up until last Sunday. Looking back ... I don't think I should keep this up!

So colorful! Cannot wait for my trip to Europe in October. By then the blooms will be gone, but the leaves will be turning colors :)

Beautiful, beautiful. It looks like such a unique place, and a place I'd love to visit. Lucky you!!! I'm glad you're doing this meme too, I know you have lots of these wonderful window shots. Now I'll be looking for unique windows everywhere.

I just can't! I jussst CAN'T! Is this really a Thursday meme? Or is it a Friday meme? I thought the Sepia Scenes was Thursday... I can't keep them all straight anymore! I wonder how MARY does it!?

These ARE some beautiful windows Jientje! And yes... I quite agree they should be shared BEFORE the new season starts! I have so many unshared photos... untold stories... it just gets too far beyond them and my excitement wanes... don't let that happen.

Jientje said...

@ Robynn: This is not Belgium, it's the South of France.
@ Terri: Maybe we can look for them together?
@ Dianne: Thank you!
@ Lisa: Yes, the flowers are lovely!
@ Melli: It's a Thursday meme, so is Sepia scenes, but I'm not always in the mood for sepia, so ... The new season is going to be here soon, same as the new camera, and then they would really be forgotten. can't let that happen!
