Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

When Window Views Meets Ruby Tuesday

I'm always on the lookout for a pretty door or a lovely window when I'm in Provence.
We were out on a walk in Cucuron, when I spotted this window.

Not a ruby?
Oh but it is, look ...

Oh God I love that camera.

Very nice! Can't work it out though - are they on a curtain? They seem to be suspended - or am I not seeing it right?
"Love" the previous post!! Me too - songs come to mind when I see photos!

I love those cornflower blue shutters. My mother would love those poppies.

Wow, you have reason to love that camera...that it could actually go into that room and capture the mural on the wall is amazing to me! Be sure to thank your Husband again...for spoiling you Jientje.

Nu begrijp ik waarom je op een wandeling neit vooruit geraakt. Zo'n foto's gelijk die van gisteren zijn niet op 2 seconden gemaakt hé.
En nu... posten: zal het lukken ?

I love your camera, too. Spectacular! Not to mention, poppies are my favorite flowers.

Jientje, you are doing such amazing photography! And it's not all due to your fabulous camera, you have a great eye for composition. I'm especially loving your portraits. Just stunning.

I've been absent from commenting on anyone's blog for awhile -- have needed a bit of regroup time, so I apologize for not keeping up with you. Your trip looks glorious! I'm very much looking forward to our time together!

Great camera - great picture - but I have to wonder at some people's choice in wallpaper.

OMG, if she looks into other people's windows with that camera of hers, nobody is safe anymore!!!
She captures mating bugs on lavender... what will she capture next through open windows???
WARNING! Keep your blinds closed at all times when she's around!
Big hug!
Your little sister

Very nice! A coat of paint can do wonders to old doors and shutters. The red - where did that come from?

P.S. What camera?

Wonderful!

Those are huge red flowers. You were close to St. Remy, did you go there? We stayed there for a week a few years ago. It was fairly central for touring Provence. I loved those shutters, I have many pictures of them.
This year we spent time near Toulouse. Did a round trip from Barcelona to Carcassonne via the coastal route and back over the mountains through Andorra.
We spent another week in Paris and went up to Belgium (Bruge).
It was all nice, as usual.
Happy RT,
..

Gorgeous colors. I was thinking how many would just rip off those old shutters and replace them but that blue against the yellow inset frame is incredible. Nice, Jientje!

@ Mar: So do I!
@ Avril: They're painted on the walls inside the apartment.
@ Nessa: And I love them both!
@ Melli: It was rather difficult to get the light right, but I made it! Or at least, the camera made it!
@ Dr John: It is.
@ Wanda: You bet I will!
@ Geert: Ik ben blij dat je me begrijpt nu, ik vond dat heel moeilijk om uit te leggen vorige zondag. Het is een ander soort wandelen hé?
@ Kirby3131: Can't live without it! LOL!
@ Terri: So am I Terri, very much looking forward to it! I'm glad you're okay, I was getting worried about you, yes. Take it easy though. Visiting and commenting can become a bit much sometimes, I'm still not caught up after my holiday in France.
@ Lou: It's a mural. The poppies are painted on the wall, I rather liked it myself.
@ Thom: Thanks!
@ Bientje: You're too funny!
@ Mama: No, I don't paint. I may have an artistic eye, but I don't have an artistic hand!
@ Jacob: The poppies are painted on the wall inside the apartment.
@ Jacob: My new camera!
@ Christine: Hi, thanks for dropping in!
@ Jim: We go to Saint Remy each Wednesdays when we're on holiday there. My favourite weekly Provencial market is held on Wednesdays. I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip, and you even visited Belgium! I was born in Bruges, I miss it sometimes.
@ Robynn: In Provence they don't replace the shutters. Not until they fall off that is!
@ Alida: Thank you Alida, it's nice to see you!

Love the window!
Loved your sister's comment - I was thinking along those lines. Someone walks by their window and looks out and there you are. :)
