About Me

Antwerp, Belgium
Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Friday’s Fave Five, Family …

friday fave five spring

Another week has gone by, the month of March is almost over…
I can never believe how quickly time flies! Friday again, time to list some of the favorite things of this past week.

fave five 26 maart

1. New clothes. I went shopping for some new clothes last week and bought some new things in lovely Spring colors.
2. Little surprise gifts from my husband. When he comes home, holding his hands  behind his back with that little twinkle in his eye, I can be sure he has a little surprise gift for me. It happened three times (!!!) this week! This time he got me the butterfly and the dragon fly garden decorations and a peony tree for the patio.
I’m such a spoiled brat!
3. A two hour photo walk in Bruges,
4. and a visit with my parents. My parents and my family all live in Bruges and the distance between us can be hard. You just don’t pop over for coffee anytime you want to. But this week I could, and I was able to surprise them with my visit. We had a lovely afternoon together.
5. My patio has really burst into color this week. Some of the daffodils are blooming for the second time, I had no idea this was possible!

Friday’s Fave Five is hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story.

ooh I love little surprises! My mum has been in wintering in a southern state for the past 6 weeks so I haven't been able to see her. She is coming home next week and I'll be glad. I miss being able to pop in on her.

Such a lovely hubby you have with his surprise gifts! Family get-togethers are so special, aren't they - especially with your mum and dad :)

I too enjoy your photos, as I always do. Yes, the spring flowers are coming up and out, but we had snow this morning nonetheless.

Shopping for new clothes can be great fun (sometimes!) I always like the idea in theory. But the actual searching and hunting begins to wear on me! Nevertheless - when you find something that you love - it's absolutely awesome!

LOVE the colors. What a beautiful patio to relax and enjoy yourself in!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Goodness, look at all of the beautiful flowers! Spring is coming along here, but most things are still in their bud stage. I'm looking forward to full bloom.

I desperately need to shop for new clothes. But I’d rather not; just not a shopper. I love surprise gifts, too. What a great husband you have. It’s nice to be spoiled. Enjoy it!

Your wonderful pictures are making me itch for flowers to start springing out around here. We've a little ways to go yet before that happens. Soon, though, very soon, I hope.

Surprises from your hubby and new clothes. Lucky girl! :v)
