Almost Sepia … and a Door…

Is it a Window Views or a Sepia Scenes? Or both?

I mean, it’s almost a sepia, it has a door … as well as lots of windows.
And it’s definitely grainy. Sorry for that.

I photographed this gallery at the Franciscan Monastery in Washington DC.

A peaceful hidden place which is usually what I prefer to see when I travel or visit a town.
I mean, I can find the White House on Google Images, can’t I?
Besides … they’d never allow me to take pictures in there.

But there were lots and lots of photo opportunities inside the monastery when we took the guided tour…

  2. Oh I think the graininess adds to the photo. I honestly don't think it would be as good without it. I love the way that you have captured even the detail of the swirls on the columns. Great photo.

  3. The graininess made it resemble a print in a large oversized 65 year old Bible I have of my Mother's. Loved your photos Jientje.

  10. A pretty place, this monastery. Is it interesting to be taught about a place a 4 hour drive from my home by someone who lives across the ocean? I'm fond of the gray cat.

  12. Grainy perhaps, but I love the perspective in that first shot. The monastary looks like a wonderful place to explore, camera in hand.
