The Streets of Joucas.

 mwb 1575

We drove past Gordes on the way to Joucas, and I just had to get one more picture of this very lovely perched village.

Joucas is a terraced village which is largely overlooked by tourists, unlike the other villages in the Luberon. It is situated on a hill opposite the ochre of Roussilon
and only six kilometers away from the city of Gordes which is much better known by tourists.

Let’s climb the tiny step-streets all the way up to the top of Joucas and let me lead you through this little hidden treasure? Follow me, I promise, it’s worth it!

  1. Well, isn't this lovely! Double fun! I know this area SO well! My parents lived in this area until last year so I visited often. It's one of my favorite places in France. AMD, although I don't specify it in my "where is home" page, I was born in Brussels. Glad I dropped by to find this wonderful post, Jientje!

  6. Absolutely stunning. It's reminding me a bit of Tuscany. I do so love quaint little villages off the beaten track.
