Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Friday's Fave Five, November Weather

You're probably wondering why I'm using a fall button to this post? Well, that's because of the weather we've been having here lately. It's been cold and wet and gray, not at all the kind of weather one would expect in a beautiful month of May! It doesn't feel like Spring at all, it feels like November around here!
Phew! I had to get this off my chest, the weather is definitely NOT in my favorites these past few weeks. We're desperately in need of some sunshine and stable weather.

That said, over to the real business of the day by sharing my favorites from the week. It's time to join Susanne at Living to Tell the Story in this weekly meme.

1. Highlight of the week was my Mom's birthday on Sunday. The whole family got together to celebrate her 79th birthday.Read all about it and see more pictures in this post.

2. Breakfast and a day out with my friend Nana. It's always great to spend time with her. This time she found us a very cozy vegetarian restaurant. The food was great, and time flew by way too fast.

3. Shopping for clothes. After breakfast we browsed some clothing stores together and fitted a couple of dresses. I found three dresses, a white cardigan  and a very cute polka dotted T shirt.

4. Fimo fun. Ever since my daughter gave us a workshop on how to make polymer clay beads, we've been bitten by the Fimo virus! This week I made a necklace to match my beige dress and I'm rather proud how it came out.

5.The Senseo coffee maker my hubby surprised me with yesterday. I found a package of coffee pads in the shopping bag and thought he had gotten a free sample at some supermarket. He acted as if he had forgotten something and came back with the coffee maker!

6.Our new barbecue. Despite the poor weather, we've been cooking outside a couple of times this week, and I love my outdoor kitchen a lot!

The necklace looks beautiful !
We are so happy with our Senseo, it's so practical especially because we are only 2, but even for more people it works perfectly. We have tried out several coffee brand pads and found out that the Aldi strong is the best ! The price too 36 pads for 2 € something !

I had not heard of Fimo, but it looks neat!

Hope the weather clears up for you soon.

The new coffeemaker, clothes shopping, and time with family and friends all sound wonderful.

You are doing the best you can with the 'fall' weather. Spring dresses and barbeques help set the tone for Spring and remind the weather to cooperate.
Happy Birthday to your mom!

Fall weather in spring? Well, that just isn't good at all. Though I must say I can totally relate as that happens around here too.

Love your pictures. Your necklaces are looking great. I love bbq-ing too.
