Friday again, time to share some of my favorite moments from the week that has passed. It’s been a beautiful week, there were many things that made me smile …
1. Sunlight and beautiful weather. If there is one thing that makes people happy all over the world it’s sunshine and Spring weather after a long and cold Winter. Right here in Belgium they promised Mediterranean weather on Wednesday and Thursday and they were right! I swung open doors and windows and had my lunch outside on my patio yesterday. Hearing the birds sing, and seeing the first honey bees visit the blooming Spring flowers really made my heart sing!
2. I was out and about with my camera again this week. On Sunday I had a date with my husband. We went to a garden fair where people exchanged plants. The fair was held in a castle and the rooms on the first floor were open to visitors. Photo opportunities galore! After that we went to my grandmother’s village and shot some more pictures there. I can never get enough of the peaceful scenery there.
3. The Snowdrops my husband got me at the fair. They look so cheerful and Springy next to the blooming Daffodils, Primulas and Violets. Speaking of Violets, I have some in a pot I bought in Fall. They made it through the cold Winter and are now really starting to grow lots of flowers again. I love how the flowers look like little smiling faces to me, and they make me smile right back!
4. Wednesday was St.- Patrick’s day, and I wanted to try and find some Irish spirit and capture it with my camera. Unfortunately, all I saw was a couple of groups of students trying to get drunk in one of the very few (only seven!) Irish pubs we have in Antwerp. I had no desire to join them so I continued my walk and tried to find other photo opportunities. And I did. In case you’re wondering about the cruise ship in my collage, no I did not go on a cruise. There was a huge ship in the docks, another great photo opportunity!
5. Later that same day I discovered the chocolate shop I posted about yesterday. And although I’m trying to loose some weight, eating lots of fruits and veggies and chicken soup, I just could not resist buying some chocolate. The tiniest amount, I bought three little Easter eggs because … well, they looked SO pretty. They’re going to be part of my Easter decoration for a while longer before I eat them.
So there … the little things that made me smile this week. So … how was your week? Tell us about it and join Friday’s Fave Five if you want. You’ll find lots of other posts at Susanne’s Living to Tell the Story.

The pictures are wonderful! It has been gorgeous here all week as well. Unfortunately, starting tomorrow, we will be getting back to normal temps for this time of here & maybe some snowflakes...UGH! I did see my first Robin of spring, so I hope his visit was telling me spring will be here to stay soon! Have agreat weekend! (((HUGS)))
The first thing that I was drawn to were those yummy chocolate eggs. They are amazing. Then I looked closer and saw the little ladybugs, I love them! It's definitely been getting warmer here so maybe we'll start seeing some little critters.
May I ask how you put together the collage? Is it a program through photoshop or something like that?
Beautiful collage~and thanks for any tips ;)

So many reasons to smile! I really admire how active you are. I feel positively elderly when compare your activity level to mine!
Great collage, Jientje! Mmmmmmm. Chocolate. I am still thinking about that chocolate shop from yesterday.
The Snowdrops, Chocolate, and Strawberry Leaves with those Ladybugs, all spell Happy to me, Jientje!
It sounds like you had a beautiful week and you've got the pictures to prove it! You take excellent photos.
I've come to the conclusion that we never SHOULD give up chocolate! =D
I love the photograph of the tree branch and lady bugs. It's beautiful!
A garden fair sounds like so much fun! And in a castle? That would be an awesome way to spend a day.
Those chocolate eggs look really pretty. I'll bet they are yummy!
Beautiful collage. I so resonate with your thoughts in number one. It is so true that Spring is appreciated after a long cold winter. I love Spring. Glad you are enjoying some lovely weather. We are having some great sunshine today.
Have a wonderful weekend...
I would love to visit a castle!
I have been enjoying the warmer temperatures and seeing a few things starting to grow here, too.
I’m loving the sunlight and beautiful weather, too! You’re right—everybody around the world has that in common. And a love for chocolate. {smile}
You are so right about sunshine lifting the spirits of people around the whole world. It's happening over here too.
The Easter eggs are lovely. I could never keep them as a decoration. Yesterday I received a bag of truffles in the mail as part of a blog gift I won and I ate almost all of them on the spot then and there. How's that for willpower?
I've missed visiting you here. It is such a busy time with getting ready for my daughter's graduation and my new job at the bookstore- not so new anymore.
Your pictures are wonderful, as always- you are the master, in my opinion.
Your chocolate eggs made me smile too. They look so good.
Oh it looks as though you had a gorgeous and wonderful week.
I just love to come here on Fridays and marvel at your artistry! Simply beautiful.
Happy weekend.
Your pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your FFF.
Have a great weekend.

Sounds like you had a lovely week to match the lovely weather. We had a few cold days but today was very nice. I opened all the windows and cleaned house all day. There is nothing like spring weather to make a person feel like cleaning.
I know from other posts how much you love your grandmother's village. I'm glad you were able to visit there again. I can't imagine how wonderful it was to go to a plant exchange in a CASTLE! Wow!
Have a happy spring equinox weekend!
