Each week, when I want to write my Fave Five I browse through the pictures I made.
Each week I’m amazed as to how quickly time has fled, and how many beautiful moments - great and small – have made my week a happy one.
1. I took so many pictures of him, I really have to include him in my Fave Five. We were on our way to the weekly market, - one block away - when I heard him play. I have seen him play before, this guy and his piano really rock the town! He plays real swinging music like Chantilly Lace, Lucille, and Great Balls of Fire just to name a few. Do you get the picture? Note to self: next time I should make a video, ROFL!
If you ever visit Antwerp, I hope he’s there, because he’s really THAT good!
2. Tuesday was a bright and sunny day, with temperatures well in the fifties. Something I had been waiting for for weeks, because I had been looking for a chance to clean up my patio for weeks now. I removed the dead plants, rearranged the pots, and planted my Primulas to add a little splash of color. It has cooled off a little since then - we even had five snowflakes falling down this morning - but it’s real great to finally see what Spring looks like when I look outside now! I wrote a post about it here in case you want to see more pictures.
3. My new pasta machine. I am the proud owner of this new kitchen toy! Homemade fresh pasta tastes heavenly! I tried a vegetarian recipe of ravioli with aubergines, ricotta and fresh tomato sauce. Elaborate but oh SO worth it!
4. Healthier food. From now on I want to eat healthier and lighter. I’m looking forward to add more fruit and vegetables to my daily menu. From now on I want to eat a little salad for lunch instead of comfort food with creamy sauces. I had a great sandwich yesterday, homemade rye bread with Parma ham garnished with red onions and lettuce.
5. The new season of the Belgian edition of “My restaurant” has begun, and I’m loving it! The new candidates have been introduced this week and I’m very curious to find out what they’ll make of this challenge to “win” their own restaurant.
I had another great week, and you?

Great pictures, as usual. You'll love the pasta making machine.
Ja, die gast is keigoe. Ik zou ook dringend wat 'gezonder' moeten eten. Als het zonnig blijft zal dat stillekesaan wel lukken. Als 't zo koud is krijg ik een slaatje amper binnen. Fijn weekend!
Wonderful Friday fave's!! I love that he has a piano on wheels! I have never seen a street performer with a piano before. It does look like spring there and I am green with envy! But, it will be in the high forties here this weekend and I shall have to make do with that.
I'm with hip chick - never seen a street performer with a piano. Wonderful! You must have danced all the way to the market.
We have SUN and temps will be in the 50's tomorrow. That is life at it's finest, I do believe.
I love the way you have placed all your pictures together in a collage kind of way. And how amazing to listen to the pianist in the street.
CJ xx
I always love all the pictures you include with your FFF. They tell the story all on their own.
The street performer looks like a lot of fun. We get the odd one around here, usually guys with a guitar and some of them look so bored and uninterested I don't know why they even bother. It would be fun to see someone really rocking the street.
My mouth is just drooling for fresh pasta now. Yummy. I'm sure you are going to have many of hours of fun with that new kitchen gadget!
I've been in the mood for lighter fare too. Must be because I can sense spring coming.
Ooh I love new kitchen gadgets! I bet you'll get a lot of use out of your new pasta maker. I've been in the mood to clean up my porch and make it more spring-like, your pictures of your patio are inspiring me!
I love what you do with you pictures! I think it would be such a blast to walk to the market and get to hear this guy play!
You are making me hungry with all those wonderful food pictures....you had a great week, I can tell!
Congratulations on the new pasta machine. Pasta is my favorite food ever. You'll be having lots of fun with it!
YUMMMM it looks delicious! I just don't know how you do it! My husband would really be in heaven if I cooked like you do! As a matter of fact, that is probably where he will be before he see it! At least not in this life time. I just an NOT a great cook! LOL
The pasta collage is both beautiful and mouth-watering! Yum!
I love each one of your collages - you always do a great job with foods! And I love the piano guy, I would have been drawn to him too!
Hi Jientje, I've never heard of "My Restaurant" but it sounds like my kind of show. Your food and garden always looks so wonderful. Photography is only one of your many talents.
