I can’t believe it’s Friday again, this week seems to have whizzed by almost as fast as a vacation does. Only one more week before we leave on holiday to France! Yaaay!
We’ve had some sun and some rain here in Belgium, but I have enjoyed the sunny days to the fullest.
1. A day off with my hubby. My husband needed to be in Ostend for his work and at the spur of the moment I decided to drive along with him. While he was working I made a long photo walk and after that we took the rest of the day off together.
It was such a gorgeous day to be out and about at the beach and there were countless photo opportunities!
2. Walking barefoot in the sand at the beach, and feel the warm sand between my toes. A real Summer feeling.
3. The fresh fish and shrimp I bought at the fish market. Fresh fish straight from the fishing boats, delicious!
4. Fresh asparagus and biological vegetables straight from the farmer. Nothing compares.
5. Yesterday was a very busy day as well. The Boutis quilting class I took in the morning went great. Boutis quilting is a lovely needlework technique, you can make such pretty things. I’m making a heart shaped hanger, a slightly different one from the one pictured above. At the end of the afternoon I had my pedicure appointment and my youngest sister came over for coffee after lunch. We don’t live close enough to each other to be able to pop over for coffee any time we want to, but she needed to be in the neighborhood for her work. It took her three hours to get home again due to traffic jams and such but it was worth it she said!
As you can see I had a lovely week, packed with all kinds of fun stuff!
How was yours?

It does look like you had a lovely week. I like the picture of your feet in the sand. I love that feeling.
Your week was lovely! The boutis quilting looks interesting. I'll have to research that a bit - not that I have any talent for needlework :(
What lovely photos from your day at the beach! And how wonderful to spend some extra time relaxing with your husband!
Look at all those warm, summery, beachy pictures! Isn't this weather wonderful! I love all the boat pics.
That quilting technique is neat. I especially like the sheep.
You have such a grand life!! I hope my retirement years are as lovely as yours...I can work towards that, can't I? ;-)
Have a lovely weekend, my dear friend.
A lovely week indeed! I love to walk on beaches and feel sand between my toes.
I love the boutis quilting too. I admire anyone with patience to wield a needle.
I'm so glad you and your sister got to spend time together. Mine lives 1000 miles away, but I get to see her this summer!
A peaceful and happy week, with seeing your sister, learning new sewing skills, and spending time with your husband. Thanks for sharing, and the nice photos.
You did have a lovely week! The white quilting is just beautiful!
I love your mosaic of photos! They are always so pretty and interesting!
Interesting embroidery technique.
My week was mostly work but I managed to visit some secret places on Wednesday and that was great.
Oh... You're pictures made me miss Belgium! My hubby and I traveled, briefly, through Brussels and Brugges this spring. (We also went to Amsterdam and Paris - but I loved Belgium best!) We hope to one day make it back... We just loved it!
What lovely pictures. And I love the quilting. I've never heard of that type of quilting before. It reminds me of trapunto quilting. I'll have to do some research on it because it is lovely. I especially love the sheep. Have a great week.
That is incredibly beautiful needle work!
I'm looking forward to a day off with my hubby tomorrow though we have no beach around here to escape too. Maybe we'll go for a bike ride instead. :v)
Exceptionally lovely needlework, Jientje.

What a lovely week! The description of warm sand between your toes makes me want to head for the beach!!
And the boutis needlework looks beautiful. I've never heard of it, and I don't remember seeing it, either. I must look up the technique. Did you make those lovely things? You are talented!
Such a breath of fresh air to view your photos!!! Love your quilting! Maybe I should try something different like that
wonderful week in pictures. I love, love, love your quilting project :) I am drawn to white, especially muslin and linen. I love the freshness of it.
I love the photos of the quilting, that is very different.....lovely!! I am glad to spent time with your sister, that is so nice....even though she had a huge drive home. Love all the pictures....I couldn't comment before, I was having some issues with my computer, now I have to catch up!!!
Hugs,
Margaret B
