Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Midweek Blues, Spring and Blue Skies

mwb 1575

Today looks like it’s going to be ANOTHER beautiful day. This early morning pale blue sky lured me and the Big Boy outside to take this picture at eight in the morning. There is nothing like the PROMISE of a beautiful day.

Hmmm, well perhaps there is. It’s the MEMORY of yesterday’s beautiful day. It was such a wonderful day I want to share it in this post. That first real Spring-like feeling was a real treat, with lots of sun, blue skies and very nice temperatures.

It made me go outside and spend the afternoon cleaning up my patio. Something I’ve been wanting to do for weeks now!

I use old potting soil bags to put the dead leaves and old plants in, it looks kind of cheery and colorful with the flowers printed on it, doesn’t it?

Look what I found amidst the new seedlings of the Violets? The first ladybug of the year came out to greet me. My grandmother believed they bring luck, and so do I.

Cleaning the garden furniture gave me a real Summer feeling. I mean, look at that reflection of that blue sky, it made my heart sing! Oh, in case you’re new here, that tower is the old windmill my neighbors live in.

I love that view, especially against a blue sky!

I just needed to pause and sit down with a cup of coffee to take it all in.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Spring, is it?

Beautiful photos. Lucky you with your spring weather - our spring seems to have vanished this week and it's been wet and dreary. I can't complain too much though after a glorious January and a downright HOT February. Still, I'd love to see some blue skies again.

What a wonderful day! Oh I know what you mean about making your heart sing...we are still waiting for our first springy day. So I will live vicariously through you for now.

Oh, wonderful Spring photos! A ladybug! They must be good luck since they are bringing you Spring. I'm hoping to see a few ladybugs soon.

Oh, I'm taking it in too! That is exactly what I am craving right now... a chance to put my hands in dirt and think spring! Lovely! And, I didn't realize that your neighbors live in the old windmill. Incredible!!

I do think that the first spring-like days are among the greatest gifts we get each year. I'm going to try to have a spring-like attitude today. Maybe I can be someone else's breath of fresh air.

As usual, I enjoyed living in your backyard for a few seconds through your pictures. Always enjoy seeing things through your eyes, you have a very unique way of seeing things.

I remember when you got the new garden furniture, with the beautiful reflecting top, Jientje. I wish it were time to clean mine!

Where do I begin? I love this post. Spring will soon be here. You always have the most incredible reflections and your neighbor's house is amazing! It's so nice seeing Belgium while I wait for my trip. :)

Oh my gosh, you have GOT to get your neighbors to let you take pictures of their house in the INSIDE...what a neat house/windmill combination! Then blog it so we can see it!

If I want to sit on my deck right now (or tomorrow, since it is almost 10 pm) I will have to shovel it first...

Love the photos. Belgium as always, is such a gorgeous country.

Wonderful photos. It looks like spring is slowly starting to come your way. Love all the flowers it brings with it.

Hi Jientje, I really enjoyed your nice Spring (blue) post. Everything was worth it the moment I saw your neighbors' tower residence.
I suppose if they are renting it they couldn't do a remodel job and make a few larger windows. That would help in there sooooooo much!

Happy MidWeek Blues. Thank you for peeking in on mine. Sunday I will take a picture of that rig with the dog back to town and ask a policeman who is guard at our church if he knows its history.
..
BTW, our redbud trees are blooming here in Texas, just north of Houston.
