About Me
- Jientje

- Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Friday's Fave Five, Spring is in the Air!
Friday again, and it has been a very good week for me. I already made a post about my weekend, ( which is here if you're interested) and now it's time to share what else I'm grateful for this week. Time to join Friday's Fave Five, hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story.
1. It's week 10 this week. There is something about the tenth week of the year for me. It is, and has been for many many years the time of the year when my body and my senses seem to awake, and my energy starts to flow again. I can truly feel those Spring juices flowing through my veins! I am more energetic, more inspired, I feel much more alive. It's such a great feeling!
2. I bought a bunch of tulips when I went grocery shopping at the supermarket last week. I LOVE tulips, they speak of Spring to me.
3. Speaking of Spring ... There is a dove nesting underneath the conifers on my patio! Oh and the Muscari are starting to grow, my Clematis has new sprouts, nature is coming to life too!
4. The little plates you see in the bottom right picture. I've had them for years, really loved their shape (that's why I bought them in the first place), but never used them because I didn't know what to do with them! I use them as a bread plate now and they're perfect!
5. Reading the paper and some nice magazines. Really taking my time to read the weekend edition of the paper and my favorite weekly magazine. My husband gifted me this glossy photo magazine and I enjoyed that one as well!
This is my Project 366 photo for today. # 69
I took this one with my tiny baby camera, isn't that amazing?

sounds like a lovely week. I come alive again at this time of year as well. My daughter just told me that she forgets who she is in the winter time...I agree with her.
The tulips are gorgeous!
Your tulips are indeed lovely! I agree that they speak spring. I need to get me some.
When I sit down with whatever book I'm reading I usually have coffee or a softdrink beside me and my kitty sits on the left arm of the leather chair and naps. :)
All my spring feelings are gone since I got home ! At the Côte d'Azur there was spring, here it still feels cold although there is not a big difference with the temperatures. And then it looks grey outside !
Like the table collage. It looks very good.
Greetings,
Filip
The tulips are so pretty, a beautiful promise of spring. I can also count on seeing some delicious looking food photos here too.
I love all the signs of spring here as well as the little poem at the beginning.
That little dish does make a just-right bread plate!
Tulips are my absolute favorite so it was so nice being greeted and left with a last picture of your gorgeous tulips. That last picture is certainly worth a frame and a place on the wall!
It's starting to feel like spring around here too. Love your little bread and butter plates. So cute.
I do like being spoiled by taking time to read. One of my guilty pleasure is reading magazines. Sounds like you are having a restful weekend. I need to follow that example more often.
Your tulip photos are gorgeous!!!
I had a tulip surprise this week. I noticed that the dafs and crocuses in my planter (a gift) were all spent, but the "grape hyacinth" was growing taller and taller and taller. ??? Then the other day, the plants revealed themselves to be tulips. Such a nice surprise as I prefer tulips.
I love your tulips! They are a wonderful little treat for yourself. I'm glad you're feeling 'springy'.
