About Me

- Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

My Weekend in Pictures
On Saturday my husband needed to deliver some paperwork in Kortrijk, which is an hour and a half drive from where we live. I decided to accompany him, so we left kind of early Saturday morning. I waited in the car and read the paper while he went about his business.
We decided to make a trip to France afterwards, since we were already halfway there. I wanted to see the Opal Coast, the French beach. By the time we were there it was past noon, and we were getting rather hungry. So we drove to Wimereux, a small town nearby.
We found a nice little restaurant called Chez Mimi.
I had sea food as a starter,
and here is my husband fighting with his shrimps!
We both ate skate as a main course.
The apple pie I had for dessert was delicious!
Project 366 # 79
We wanted to go on a photo walk afterwards, but it had started to rain, so we returned home.
In the evening we watched the finals of the Voice.
There's not much to report about our Sunday though. We slept in, and stayed in all day, working on my photos and blogging a little. I made venison with parsnip pancakes for supper. After supper we watched the Ultimate Dance Battle.

Looks very tempting. by the way love the last picture. What a beauty in color, composition and atmosphere.
Well done.
Your meal looks very yummy ! The way to the sea looks rather sad ! I wonder when spring will move in ??? It's still so cold, although today the sun is shining.
I like weekends that are not too hectic. Mine involved a lot of cleaning, laundry and ironing.
It is a bit of work but the shrimps must be great. The scate is a very difficult fish, it needs to be fresh.
Greetings,
Filip
The Apple Pie made me drool! Whoa, I so wanted to visit Chez Mimi. Thanks for sharing that up. Now I have an idea. :D

Oooh France!!! Anything to do with France, my attention is peaked!!! I've bought another travel book (DK Eye Witness Travel) on France which is full of information. It's nice to read and browse through the photographs - really looking forward to our trip in July.
Nice to see the warmer weather and you're able to enjoy the fresh air on your patio.
Interesting photos in the old theatre!
It's a public holiday here tomorrow and was hoping for a nice quiet day to garden - but some members of my family have decided to descend on us for the day !
Have a good day !
