About Me

Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

My Weekend in Pictures

Monday again, the weekend is over again. Time to look back and share some of the highlights from it.

The weather has been beautiful all weekend. Lots and lots of sunshine, blue skies ... We were spoiled, it almost felt like Summer and it's still only March!

Business as usual at the weekly market, and after that we had our lunch outside in the sun. We had the first melon of the season, although it looks good on photo, I must say it was rather tasteless. I should have left it in the sun for a couple more days I think?

In the afternoon we were at my daughter's to help her with the preparations for a lady's night with some colleagues of hers. We had clothing style and color advice in the evening.

Sunday breakfast was held outside in the sun for the first time this year. I made eggy bread or French toast with fresh fruit salad and yogurt.

In the afternoon we drove to Doel to see what kind of effect Spring and beautiful weather have on this doomed abandoned place. I want to make a photo book on Doel, so I want to make as much photos as I possibly can .
After our photo walk in the village we drove around to make photos of the famous cooling towers of the nuclear plant of Doel.

After that it was time to start supper. We had grilled pork chops with peas and a mustard tarragon cream sauce.

The rest of the evening we watched television with our cat on our lap! We watched the Ultimate dance Battle.

Looks very delicious and nice. Have more of that kind of weekends and keep your camera clicking.

Looks like you had a fantastic weekend. Love the ultimate dance battle, would like to go to Doel, the melon and ham seems nice but I don't like the rose wine.

Greetings,
Filip

ik dacht al dat is vroeg om meloen te eten, maar die zullen inderdaad nog wat flauw zijn, anders ben ik daar wel gek op
Wat erg, zo'n mooie villa die staat te verkommeren, wel heel fotogeniek
