This pretty baluster was in the garden of a castle I visited yesterday. I got as close as my camera would allow to capture some detail. I love the grain in the stone and the Ivy growing around the columns.

Great detail in the photos. The stone is so weathered and you can almost feel the texture though the photos.
I love how the vines just keep going. The purple & green show up so well against the stone. Have a great day! (((HUGS)))
Beautiful capture! I love the detail, too. Have a wonderful week :)
Oh, Jientje, these are lovely.
These are just beautiful! The texture of the stone against the vine made for a nice combo!
I love the detail and the tones!
Awesome!
Really great shots. Unfortunately, living in America, we don't get to visit many lovely, ivy-covered castles. :(
I love what you can do with things that seem so ordinary. You see things I would never see.
I enjoy your comments on my blog, but please don't say you don't understand my stuff. You are too bright to be saying that. You comprehend more than you think.
I love the juxtaposition of the inanimate stone and the living ivy. There's real poetry in these pictures :)
There's something very graceful and appealing about the combination of old stone and ivy, isn't there? And this old baluster is gorgeous! I like the second shot best. You did a great job!
i love ivy & i love castles...splendid shots!
I like the way you've framed the first image.
I agree. The grain of the stone and ivy is wonderful in these!
these are wonderful shots! I like the shot of the ivy creeping around the stone and only showing its shoot peeping around....nice...
The photos could represent one's path in life itself in a hard world...with all the twists and turns...being flexible helps one survive.
A beautiful details!
Well done.
Knowing they are castle related makes them very romantic! Surely there's a princess in a flowing white dress just out of shot. :)
gorgeous
This is so beautiful! I just love vines! And it's so St Patty Day too! :)
Very artfully captured! I can hear the ivy creeping in my direction...
