Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Friday’s Fave Five, Where Did That Week Go?

friday fave five spring

Where did that week go? It’s a good thing I’m participating in this meme to look back at the week that has passed. Time seems to fly by so fast those beautiful moments would risk fading into oblivion if it wasn’t for Friday’s Fave Five.

1. Our Easter brunch. Healthy and low calorie food, perfect for our diet.  We had celery and radishes with a low fat cheese and herb dip, salsify with smoked pork, scrambled eggs on toast and oatmeal pancakes with strawberries for dessert.

Fave Five April 9

2. The first asparagus of the season. None taste better than the first!
3. That cute terrine with the duck I bought at the garden fair. A unique piece at a very reasonable price, I even got it 3 Euros cheaper!
You can see better pictures of it here.
4. Oysters and champagne, a delicious treat at the garden fair. I LOVE oysters!
5. No chocolate for us this year, as we’re both on a diet. Instead my hubby got me these long lasting orchid flowers as an Easter gift.

Hi Jientje
Once again, I so enjoy seeing these collages of photos. I forgot to tell you that Photoscape is not MAC compatible, so there is no way for me to download it. :(
I am sure a fix will come up for it...
Have a great weekend!

Hello Jientje! Your food collage looks so yummy. That terrine is really great. I'm glad it was even cheaper for you! I love a bargain. The orchids are beautiful...enjoy.

Why is my healthy food not as pretty as yours?!

How you do prepare your asparagus? I love it, but tend to kill it when I prepare it :(

What a fun terrine! Attending a garden fair sounds like so much fun. Your Easter brunch, mmmmm, it looks delicious! Spring vegetables especially the asparagus, are my favorites.

Have a happy weekend!

And that pot of violas looks stunning. I never thought to put those in a pot.

Lovely looking brunch - pretty and healthy. Mine was pretty but no as healthy. But it sure tasted good!

We really can make an amazing meal without it being high calorie. Its interesting that you eat the white asparagus, we always eat the green but they had white asparagus in Peru. Your food and pictures look great as usual.

Orchids are beautiful. I keep saying that I am going on a diet but chocolate always tempts me and I give in.

I gave my wife an orchid that lasted months and months and then it flowered again!

It all looks wonderful! What is salsify? Flowers can be better than chocolate. They last longer anyway...lol. (((HUGS)))

This week flew by for me as well. Where did it go? I love the orchid shot. Flowers are definitely better for the diet than chocolate, but I have a terrible knack of killing any plant that comes to live at my house.
