Okay okay, I'm sorry. I'm LATE. I'm sorry.
But I was not quite sure what to post today.
First, let me tell you I'm guest blogging at Lilacspecs today. It's because of Korie I started blogging in English in the first place. I followed her link to her blog and ended up in Nablopomo two and a half years ago. As you probably all know, the rest is history!
So, if you want to know all about Belgium, the good the bad and the ugly, (and the truth about "French" fries)? My post is here. Go read it, and leave a comment there as well, okay?
I was browsing through my archives this morning when it suddenly hit me. Each week I take tons of pictures, some of them good, some of them not so good, you know?
You delete the worst ones, select some of the good ones to make a Weekly Winners post, then use a couple of rubies for a Ruby Tuesday, turn some of them into Sepia ... Some need a little bit of extra work like cropping and stuff, but you just don't seem to get around to it any more?
Quite a lot of them are doomed to oblivion.
And that's a real shame is it not?
So for today's post, I'm taking you with me to Bruges again, and I'll publish some of the pictures today that never cut it a couple of weeks ago.
Venice ... but not quite.
The difference is in the tiny details ... ;-)
Historical houses.
Oh and before any of you complain about the paucity of real rubies in this series to account for a Ruby Tuesday post, here's one to compensate the lack of vibrant red. (And because I've been bragging to Robin about how much prettier our mailboxes are, here's your proof Robin!)
Have I ever told you before how Bruges looks like a fairy tale?
I did?
Yeah, I guess so ...
Oh and , can you believe I'm still not done yet with my pictures from Bruges?
Yeah. I guess so too.
I love this town. Does it show?
Find more Ruby Tuesday pictures at Work of the Poet.

It most certainly is - yours is pretty, ours are just utilitarian. The only similarity is the color. In fact, the entire city is prettier than mine - much, MUCH prettier.
Someday I MUST get to Bruges...
All I can say is Beautiful, Thank you for sharing.
I so miss the old cities of Europe. Beautiful shots.
Looks like a very nice and quiet place to be!
What a magical place. Thank you for sharing.
My Ruby Tuesday is here - here.
I love that town, too. Thanks to you.
Oh, I totally love these!
And yes, I know what you mean.
I barely get around to post all the ones I want to post.
One reason I play more Memes and post more than once per day.
One doesn't have to comment on all posts, but I at least get to show some more shots :D
Thanks for this lovely tour!
I think my Fav is the Couple on the bridge :)
Such a lovely tour, Jientje! and fantastic shots, but I always expect nothing but the best when I visit here.
;)
When ever I want to go sight seeing I come to your blog, you post the most interesting sights! Thank you for another wonderful trip!
I love your pictures of Bruges. The city is very Hans Christian Andersen in my mind - all fairy tales and bridges. Do you have trolls there?
It does look like a fairytale. I don't know how you could think you would take a bad picture. I sure can't see that. Are there trolls under those bridges as fair maidens cross those lovely bridges into those so wonderful looking houses? That picture of the house with the red windows is so great. I just love it :)
Gorgeous! Every single picture! And that last one is incredible! Fairytale, indeed!
What beautiful photos - and what a wonderful place! The perfect start to my day. ;-)
Thank you for the lovely tour, Jientje!!
You look like you live in a fairy tale. Where is the princess? Perhaps, on her way to the bright red mail box.
They really do look like images from a fairy tale...or love story film. Just beautiful! And your mailboxes are so unique!
Love the mailbox! These photos are beautiful to me. It does look like time stood still there and that is what I love so much about your place. Out of a fairy tale most definitely! Thanks so much for sharing, Jientje!
Yes you are right these are beautiful and the city is gorgeous!
Thanks :)
I just watched a program on TV about your City, it is Too Beautiful for Words.
@ Everyone: I've been a bad blogger the last couple of days, not answering my comments! Shame on me, but ... here we go!
@ Robin: I would love to show it to you!
@ Bill: I enjoyed sharing it, you're welcome!
@ Nessa: You've been in Europe before eh?
@ Jama: It sure is!
@ Martha: It is.
@ Lou: Yeah, me too.I so love to go back there.
@ Nicole: posting more thanonce a day is not an option for me. Not enough hours in a day you know?
@ Mar: Phew, thanks for the compliment!
@ Amanda: You're more than welcome!
@ Eve: Trolls? Never heard of trolls in Bruges.
But there are some beautiful legends, yes.
@ Thom: Some of those pictures did need a little work. I took some of them from the boat as we were taking the tour, so...
@ Quilly: That last one is called the Lake of Love, I think I should have mentioned that in my post?
@ Tatersmama: It was my pleasure!
@ Dr John: Unfortunately, I don't live there anymore. It's the town where I was born. I live an hours drive from there now.
@ @ Sandy: The Lake of Love would be a very nice location for a movie, I agree. Maybe it has been done before, I don't know.
@ Becky: I'm glad they preserved it so well.
@ a Lady's life: You're welcome!
@ Bill: How wonderful, and what a coincidence!
Who wouldn't love it. It is like a fairy tale.
I love all your pictures, my ancestors came from Europe. I love the feel I get when I visit.....
Need work cuz you were in a boat. If I was in a boat they would be well...what's the word..tenebrous..LOL.
I love all your photos!
Paz
I'm always enamored with building hanging over water - I guess it's because I don't see them very often. I want to live in that last place though! It looks perfect!
PS - you're mailboxes also look sturdier than ours!
