On the first night I had my new camera, only minutes after I had received it, and started looking for photo opportunities on my patio, this friendly little fellow ( I think it's a bee?) seemed to be more than willing to pose for me.
He took his time, and so could I ...
Allowing me closer
He just got on with his own business
graciously posing for me,
and letting me take pictures from every possible angle!
Isn't that grand?

Great closeups! That little bee is really posing for you - and your shots is so sharp! Beautiful colors on that little flying thing! :)
I guess it was meant to bee! Bee thankful...as it should bee! :)
Wow .. wow .. wow !! The clarity and colours are amazing! Excellent 'test' run!!
If it looks like a bee and acts like a bee, I reckon it's a bee! Only YOU make it beautiful! You and that fabulous new camera of yours!
Love your post title! didn't take a closer look to your pictures since I am known for my insect aversion, bwaaaaaahhhh. Sorry, can't help it!!
You know ever since you explained, my Belgian Bombshell, what a Macro is, it's been one of my favortie things to look forward to seeing. These are just excellent. Mahalo for sharing :)
It IS grand! Love these pics. I could just look at them all day. Whoever came up with the macro Monday is very clever.
Amazing pics...
I would never be caught that close to a bee because I have a great fear of them...
I know, how silly, but I just can't do it!
Love the macro feature of that camera!

Beautiful macros, great job this week!
Wow! I don't know if that is a fly that looks like a bee, or a bee that looks like a fly, but I do know that it is absolutely gorgeous! You are an amazing photographer. I am so glad you have a camera again.
Oh, the last one is really good!!!! What a polite and patient bee;)
Wow! Amazing shots. Crystal clear. I've never seen a bee with those markings -- some kind of wasp? Don't think it's a honeybee.
I have a new tripod I'm dying to try out on some macro photos so I can hold the camera still!
I LOVE these! As much as I liked seeing the little bee, (he IS gorgeous!) the pollen on the petals simply took my breath away!
Guess who now wants a new camera for her birthday? ;-)
fantastic series. I love seeing all these details!
OMGosh - we have the same camera, but you take much better photo's...what gives?
Now that is a GREAT SHOT!!!
Wow!:)
Well, I'll bee darned! Those things never pose for me! Great shots!
Oh my goodness, wow, those are some awesomely close up shots.
Very grand, and beautifully shot, if not for the "Aack! It's a bee!" factor. (Sorry, I'm terribly sensitive to bee stings and swell up like a balloon.)
How lovely that your camera has finally arrived, and is able to produce some stunning shots.
How did you manage to get him to sit still that long?
