About Me

Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Macro Monday, Flowers

mm

I always enjoy getting flowers, but it’s a pity they wither so fast. So what I usually do when I receive a nice bouquet is to immortalize their beauty by photographing them.
The floral arrangement my husband offered me for Mother’s day makes a perfect subject for a Macro Monday post, don’t you think?
Enjoy …

It is special Jientje...with our first glimpse of it with the gelatin packet...I thought then how sweet, but also how unique it was with the curved stems and berries.

Yes, all of the above comments covered it. I liked this bouquet, very unique. Lots of beautiful things in Belgium.

I could have used your eyes to photograph my sunflowers. I would have loved to have seen them through your eyes. Who knows what I would be painting now?

What a thoughtful husband. It's an exceptionally nice bouquet.

It is a beautiful arrangement. It reminded me immediately of an old fashioned lady's hat, with the flat leaves as the brim and the flowers as the crown decorations. I was particularly taken with the use of berries and seed pods with the beautiful roses and tulips. Thanks for sharing it!

How many years?

Excellent. When I try to get that close, the picture gets grainy. That's because my camera does not have a good zoom, right? You know I just have that little point and shoot Nikon. Just wondering if it is me or my camera.

These are lovely.

I DO think! It is such an unusual arrangement that it certainly needed to be photographed... and you, of course, did it properly!

This is one of the most unusual (and I mean that in a GOOD way) floral arrangements that I've ever seen.

What an interesting group of flowers. Of course I recognized the rose....but the other flowers are unfamiliar to me. How beautiful...I love getting fresh cut flowers, even if they only last a few days and cost a BUNDLE! It just shows me, that money is no object when it comes to showing how much you love someone....(sigh)nice....
