I am completely uninspired today.
Looking for a new macro theme, I find I’m at a loss.
The last few posts have been quite spectacular, and now I’m afraid I’ve reached a point where it’s getting very very difficult to top them.
Or come up with something I haven’t done yet?
I could post the macro’s of the bees in the sweet peas I made last Saturday, but I already had bees in lavender yesterday. It would just be bees again.
I’ve done bug sex, done spiders eating bees … DUH.
Too many bugs and spiders could scare some of my readers away too.
I want something different, but what? No more food, nah.
Pffff.
Then I remembered the theme for thematic photography is “lines”. Maybe I could find some interesting lines then? I took my camera and took dozens of pictures of all kinds of stuff. A whicker plate, my grandmother’s vase, you name it. And when I looked at them I found I did not like any of them.
After wasting hours and hours by taking and editing crappy pictures, this is what I can come up with today. It’s the best I can do for now.
Boring huh?
Or is it just me being tired today?

Not boring at all! I like the last one the best!

I like the last picture. The quiet textures of two very different surfaces - the shell on the wood surface. I feel the same way this morning. Creativity comes in spurts for me, as I can not grind it out like clock work. Machines grind things out like clock work, people have to have down time to rekindle their creativity. That's my opinion.
But, when you do feel like it, you put together some great stuff.
Actually it was nice Jientje...you captured lines on lines...I did a quessing game with the first photo...I was wrong...it had a soft pillow look to me!
Why didn't quessing look wrong to me before...
I guess I need to edit more.
Well, personally, I'm always up for anything beachy! That last one is cool because it has the lines from the shell going one way, and the lines in the wood going another.... I like it!
Each artist has his (or her) up and downs, you can't be creative every day. But I have to say it's very nice what you did ! really !
I am off now to take my Eurostar and at 7.30 tonight I will be at the sea and tomorrow morning wake up with my darling seagulls !
I'll post from there !
I agree with you Jientje, you've already done better things than this post. But most probably Picasso has also thrown away some things now and then. Realizing it is the first step to improvement.
Not boring at all!! I love beach stuff!! love the colours and textures - maybe it's because we don't live at the coast. I feel a little lost without my littlies around (who are at the beach!) Jeanette phoned this morning for me to chat with Connor - he had handed her cellphone to her and said "Want to talk to Gwanny" ! Ah - he's such a cutie!!
I thought the same this morning...boring scenery, although the shell is not that boring, some creature put a lot into making it. Have a great Monday!
Me again! Love your bees in previous post and the party pics!! What a wonderful birthday surprise !! ... oh yes ... with YUM YUM YUMMY food!!!! and so beautifully presented!!
You did a fantastic job for being unispired, Jientje!
Someone is tired today. Your work is never ever boring. These are excellent and fit in to the theme are excellent. The last one is the best I think. I like it and you can't go wrong with anything dealing with the sea :) I wish I could be that uninspired. Excellent. ;)
Excellent stuff, Jientje. A lovely exploration of line and texture.
I think you are just tired. The pictures are really good, especially the last one.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I answered your question and posted about making sun tea today.
I like that last shot - -the contrast between the shell and the wood grain. And I have4 found to my amazement that my favorite photos aren't the ones folks rave over, and the ones I worry about seem to thrill them most. Go figure!
I agree with Quilly. Sometimes I'll post what I think is a marvelous photo with clever prose and no one thinks it's all that great. And then I'll slap together a post and it'll get bunches of comments. Even if you don't FEEL creative today, you chose something with great lines.
Good pictures but bees are better.
I know what you mean. I haven't posted in days. What is happening? Dunno. I like all your photos, even these.
Heidi
It is just you feeling 'blah' Jientje, I particularly like the first photo the lines are really intriguing. I like shells though. I love insect photos, good photos of spiders always fascinate me and your spider photos are particularly good. Why don't you have a couple of days off and just curl up with a good book. (((hugs)))to you my friend
Great interpretation of the theme!
I find after reading the comments and going back and looking at the photos over and over that I like the second image best. Great macro, nice focus and I like that the lines of the wood in this one mimic the lines in the shell rather than oppose it.
I like sea shels /especially the big rapans that you can hear the sound of the ocean :)/. It was fun for me - I spend few minures guessing before looking at the second picture - an I guessed right!
I find it never boring when visiting your blog, and I really miss my time here. Thanks for your uplifting comments on my blog, Jientje. It means a lot to me. Have a wonderful week :)
there is nothing boring about a good macro lots of wonderful details to look at Jientje
