"A Thousand Words in Idioms"
As long as people have been around, they have tried to communicate with each other. As a means of getting the message across as clearly as possible, idioms and sayings have found their way into our language. Now, because "a picture paints a thousand words", I thought it would be nice to make this a photo challenge. The idea is to choose an idiom, or a saying, ( even slang is allowed) and illustrate it with a picture. Each week we'll cover two letters of the alphabet, okay? You can find the first edition here if you need some inspiration.
If "language is the dress of thoughts" ( Johnson), then idioms must the wardrobe ...
Here we go! Already the last two letters of the alphabet, who would have thought we would find them all? Some of them were quite a challenge, but even the hard ones were fun! To make it even more fun, we’re going to keep the photo challenge and loose the alphabet. Starting next week everybody will be free to choose the idioms they want. All I’m asking is to have two each week and to use your own pictures, archived ones, or new ones. I hope to see more players each week?

These are great idioms Jientje, This was a fun game. I enjoyed seeing everyone's photo's and what they came up for idioms.

Forgot to say of course I am with you next week, if it's possible, but I think so. I am at the English coast, but there is a computer and I also take my baby computer with me !

While viewing the photo, I tried my best to guess what that Z stood for before looking...even after seeing the cute photo first, upon reading Zonk Out...it made me Laugh...your words made the photo very funny!

I sO forgot to play again this week... I've just been too busy. I think I might be a little "idiom'd out" too... not sure. I dO know right now I've just got too much going on!

I love the piggies. I just posted today about our big weekend, and the pics took forever to load, so I won't be joining in this time. Hope you go back to A and start over. I got in on it late in the game.
