"A Thousand Words in Idioms"
As long as people have been around, they have tried to communicate with each other. As a means of getting the message across as clearly as possible, idioms and sayings have found their way into our language. Now, because "a picture paints a thousand words", I thought it would be nice to make this a photo challenge. The idea is to choose an idiom, or a saying, ( even slang is allowed) and illustrate it with a picture. Each week we'll cover two letters of the alphabet, okay? You can find the first edition here if you need some inspiration.
Here we go! Already the last two letters of the alphabet, who would have thought we would find them all? Some of them were quite a challenge, but even the hard ones were fun! To make it even more fun, we’re going to keep the photo challenge and loose the alphabet. Starting next week everybody will be free to choose the idioms they want. All I’m asking is to have two each week and to use your own pictures, archived ones, or new ones. I hope to see more players each week?
Okay here we go …
Y is for ....
And Z is for ....
Zonk out : Zonk out means to fall asleep very quickly. (source)
Now don’t forget to sign the Mister Linky if you’re playing? Please use the link to your post, not your homepage, okay?
I can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with this week!!

OMG that is just too funny...you Z one. Excellent and the Y one is so clever. Well done. I've realy enjoyed this and look forward to continuing this next week with our own choices. Great pictures my Belgian Bombshell :)
These are great idioms Jientje, This was a fun game. I enjoyed seeing everyone's photo's and what they came up for idioms.
Those are both great. I feel for that poor zonked-out mama! And that top picture is just too cute.
I'll catch up with everyone later today -- I have to be somewhere this morning.
Ah, these piggies are soo sweet ! I want one !
I came here before, then I cut the grass, now I am back and ready for a swim !
Forgot to say of course I am with you next week, if it's possible, but I think so. I am at the English coast, but there is a computer and I also take my baby computer with me !
These are both so adorable! I love the creativity of the first one and sleeping piglets in the second.
Ahhh, I need to zonk out right now ;)
I enjoy looking, and I will remain a looker if that is all right with you.
Adorable shots! Well done, Jientje, it was a fun project even though I was only able to participate a couple of times.
Looking forward to the "free-to-choose" part of this!!
While viewing the photo, I tried my best to guess what that Z stood for before looking...even after seeing the cute photo first, upon reading Zonk Out...it made me Laugh...your words made the photo very funny!
Thos zonked out piglets are cute!
ROFL! I love your creativity in achieving the first idiom! But the Z idiom is my favorite! Those little piggies sure are ZONKED! Just adorable!
I sO forgot to play again this week... I've just been too busy. I think I might be a little "idiom'd out" too... not sure. I dO know right now I've just got too much going on!
jientje, I love these incredible shots that represent the quotes! Wow! :)
Love the picture of the zonked baby piglets! I finally got my post up, too.

Good ones Jientje!
I may try to come up with something for next week.
Those are really good and excellent pictures to go with them.
I love the piggies. I just posted today about our big weekend, and the pics took forever to load, so I won't be joining in this time. Hope you go back to A and start over. I got in on it late in the game.
Heidi
I love discovering new idioms. What a lovely way to weave them together with beautiful photos. Those piglets are just adorable!
@ Everyone: Sorry, I'm way behind in answering my comments, I do hope you'll forgive me. I'll just answer any questions that have been asked, okay?
@ Bill: This game will continue next week, there will be more of that.
@ Gabriel: From next week onwards, everybody can do what they want, no need for the alphabet, just pick any idiom you like, okay?
@ 2Thinks, we will start over, but you're free to choose which two idioms you want to post, no more alphabet.
@ Everyone: Thanks to everyone for playing, I hope to continue the game next week. Just post two idioms of your own choice, okay?
