Another amazing place I got to visit with Melli was Drum Point Lighthouse and Calvert Marine Museum.
It was built in 1883 and functioned as a lighthouse for eight decades before it was restored in 1962. In 1975 it got relocated to the Calvert Museum Site. It is now the only fully furnished lighthouse in the bay.

Jientje, great pictures of the lighthouse, how exciting it would have been to live there. I love the last post you did, such a big statement for a small poem.
Your beautiful photos make me think I am actually there, thank you for sharing your holiday!

I like the photos too. Thanks for sharing them. You got to see some real Americana.
I love the simple beauty of those rooms. Thanks for all of your beautiful photos Jientje!
Beautiful pictures, I wait for more, lol !
Cool. Lovely photos and a really cool subject.
How fun! I've never been to a lighthouse. Lovely pictures.
so cozy, we always see the outside--I loved these interior shots.
I've been to a couple of lighthouses but none were furnished. How awesome! Love the pictures.
ohhh the lighthouse on stilts? that looks a little scary to live in although I would love have a light house. Very quaint and cozy! Did you snap any shots of the outside of it too? The furniture is wonderful and I can start imagining a story or two about people who lived in that light house. "As she stood in front of the lighthouse bedroom window...she wondered if he would ever return from the sea".......(LOL)
I didn't know lighthouses were so nice.

I love lighthouses!! and I have never seen a furnished one before :)
Beautiful pictures as always!
This lighthouse looks gorgeous inside too! I wouldn't mind living in one. :)
I can only begin to imagine the views that those fortunate to live in this lighthouse, must have had. I bet it got pretty cold at times. Beautiful furnishings. Great photo's.
