Friday's Favourite Five ... Going ... Going ...

It is the time of the week again, time to share some favourite things from the past week.
The meme I love doing most of all. I love sharing good moments, and I really love reading other people's favourites!

It's been a very busy week, the last week before my holiday in France starts. In fact, I will be leaving for France tonight. We will be spending two weeks in my beloved region of France, Provence. I promise I'll try to stay away from ditches, and although I will be away, this blog will have an update each and every day I'm gone. Blogger autopost will take care of that!
(I hope! )



1. Family. We had a lovely party with ( almost) the whole family last Saturday because of my niece's Holy Communion. It was nice to be together again, we had pizza, played bingo and enjoyed each other's company. One of my other nieces had a baby recently (which made my parents great grandparents by the way) so we got to meet her husand AND the baby. It was FUN!! I did a photo shoot with my niece Paulien and I will be sharing this very special series of pictures next Sunday.

2. I loved my new outfit. That's me in the middle there, yes.

3. A brunch at a chateau on Sunday. Great location, great food. What more should I say hmm?

4. The flowers I got from our guests a the brunch. I got two gorgeous bouquets of flowers. So thoughtful of them. I have enjoyed them all week.

5. Another award I got yesterday !! Phew!

It will be the first time I'm going to have a REAL camera while I'm there and I can't wait to see what I can come up with this time! ( I'll have two actually, because I want to figure out the Canon Eos D40 DSLR while I'm there? ) Well who knows, I'm still not too old to learn? We'll see ...
But don't worry, I will have a post up every day while I'm away, and I'm very much looking forward to reading your comments when I get back!!

A Thousand Words In Idioms, M and N

As long as people have been around, they have tried to communicate with each other. As a means of getting the message across as clearly as possible, idioms and sayings have found their way into our language. Now, because "a picture paints a thousand words", I thought it would be nice to make this a photo challenge. The idea is to choose an idiom, or a saying, ( even slang is allowed) and illustrate it with a picture. Each week we'll cover two letters of the alphabet, okay? You can find the first edition here if you need some inspiration.

If "language is the dress of thoughts" ( Johnson), then idioms must the wardrobe ...

But before we start, may I have your attention please? As I am going away on holiday for the next two weeks, ( no Internet :-( ... eww! ) so I won't be able to host this meme until I get back again. But we will resume this on July first and do our O and P then, okay?
Now I KNOW you're going to miss me, and I will miss each and every one of YOU but you'll still be able to visit my daily posts. Some of them are already scheduled, and I'm working very hard to have something up for each day I'm gone! So please please please, keep visiting this blog while I'm gone? And leave me a comment while you're here? Because, that's why I'm going through all this trouble in the first place. I would love to come home and read all your comments? M is for ...

Okay, I have a little treat this week to make up for the time that I will be gone.
I found FOUR idioms, to go with one and the same picture!
Now how's that huh? Is that clever, or is that VERY clever?

*ahum, cough cough* ;-)


The first one is obvious: "Make a pig's ear": If you make a pig's ear of something, you make a mess of it.
Next up: "Murky waters": Where people are behaving in morally and ethically questionable ways, they are in murky waters.
" Muddy the waters": If somebody muddies the waters, he or she makes the situation more complex or less clear.
And the last one is my favourite one : "Make a silk purse out of a pig's ear": create something valuable out of something of no value.




N is for ...


"Needle in a haystack". If trying to find something is like looking for a needle in a haystack, it means that it is very difficult, if not impossible to find among everything around it.

Ruby Tuesday Rain ... Go Away ...

When I woke up this morning, I heard it was raining.
The rain inspired me to use this series of pictures. They were one of the last series of pictures I made with my S5 and I want to share them, before they fade into oblivion in my archives.

It must have helped! I see a blue sky now!

Macro Monday, An Eye For an Eye ...

I wanted to try something different for this Macro Monday.
No macro this time, but close ups.

I zoomed in a little to get a close up of the horse's eye ...

The second one on the other hand is from a cute donkey who became very friendly with me. In fact, he stood so close it was hard to photograph anything but his eye!
