Okay, yes … so maybe we were trespassing, but it was worth it.
It was a holiday, there was very little activity, which – in my humble opinion - adds to the charm and the serene atmosphere in this series of pictures.
Add the beautiful light of the golden hour ... just before sunset
and you get poetry ...

I'm a sucker for nature. I like the pictures with the flowers and birds.
I love the sunset series -- especially the one with the sun going down behind the ship.
That series did appear lifeless...but in crept the wildflowers to warm it up a bit and the sunset to make it glow!
Lovely set. Hard to choose a favorite but I think my favorite is the 4th one.
Ship at sunset is beautiful.
These are great shots! And I've 'sneaked' into places before to get pictures. The sunset shots are stunning, a wonderful combination of technology and nature.
OK. My favorite is number 8. The machines standing tall, not moving, at rest. I like that picture. How nice to live by the water.
I just scrolled a bit through your blog, I had quite a lot to do after I came back from England. Sad that you lost a friend.
The seagulls in at the English coast are very big, much bigger then ours here.
Tomorrow I'll take the train with Ilona and we go to Coxyde on the beach. They announced 30°C here and that's honnestly a lot to stay in Waterloo !
That middle one with the flowers was a pefect Bokah shot! Love them all.
The colors are just incredible! The sky just leaps off the screen.
There is always such an interestingness factor to your photos, Jientje!
These are so wonderful! I love the one of the cranes at sunset
These are all so great. I really love the b&w photo with the seagulls.
I've been trying to spend more time outside photographing, as you do. I tried to take a picture of a perfect spider web with a spider in the middle, but right after I clicked to get the shot, my camera hit the web which tangled itself all around my zoom out lens. I freaked out because I was sure the spider was on me. Afterward, I checked to see what I'd shot- nothing. The web didn't show up. My dau. says I needed to spray it with water first. Like I should know that.
Your pics here are serene and crisp, as always. I can see everything perfectly.
First of all let me thank you so much for changing the color of your wording on your blog. It is so much easier to read now than the purple one was. It's excellent. Mahalo my Belgian Bombshell. Your pictures are wonderful. I love the last two especially. Getting that bird ready to fly or jump in the water and that sunset is wonderful. Very well done. :)
That looks like a great place to take pictures. You really took some wonderful pics!
Oh, that shot with the two birds, in monochrome, where one watches the other about to take off... WINNER of a winner!
Oooh a very interesting set Jientje, I especially like your poetry shot. Are they giant cranes. lovely lovely photos all of them. xo Kim
Now I know where Lucas took the idea about those scary giant robotic machines in Star Wars. Those cranes/platforms are horrific! I really like the number 63 carved in the heavy iron!
You are incredible! You know what's going to happen? You're going to come over here and make MY world look beautiful! And I'm going to have to post right behind you and say "It doesn't really LOOK like that! There's MAGIC in her camera!" LOL!
I love that you trespassed for us, lol. And I love the bird starting to fly, who really looks like he's falling in. :)
Out of all those pictures I absolutely loved the one of the seagulls.
@ Korie: The one with the seagulls is my favorite one, and I always love to add some flowers whenever I can.
@ Quilly: Sunsets are just so wonderful to photograph. I could not stop before she was gone completely. Every time I turned around the sky was different.
@ Wanda: Yes, that sunset was a real bonus. I'm glad we could stay long enough!
@ Secret Mom Thoughts: Such a warm and bright color, I agree.
@ Wackymummy: Thank you!
@ Tara R: That's what I loved most about this series, the combination between nature and technology!
@ moneythoughts: I don't exactly live there, but in Belgium, everything is close by. We're a tiny country!
@ Gattina: Have fun tomorrow!
@ Libby: Thanks!
@ Smoochiefrog: Sunsets are stunning, I agree!
@ Secret agent mama: I try to make it as interesting as I possibly can, yes. So glad you like that!
@ Comfy Mom Stacey: I love the color of that sky.
@ Christina: my favorite on too!
@ 2Thinks: Heehee, too funny. I can imagine the horror when that web tangled around your zoom! Eww! You could spray it with water,to make it a little more visible, yes. But everything really depends on your camera's macro function if you get good pictures of spider webs or not. Keep practicing!
@ Thom: I might change it again next time, don't know yet. And the two seagulls are my favorite one too. Love that one.
@ James: Nice to meet you, James! Thanks!
@ Leora: Yes, I love it too.
@ Kim: Thanks Kim, I had so much fun! xx
@ Ellie: I loved every minute of it there. Everywhere I looked there was a picture!
@ Melli: LOL!! I'm SURE we're going to have so much FUN together!
@ Lisa: We did not bother anyone,so I guess it was okay really! Yeah, the birds are my favorite on too!
@ Loree: I agree! Thanks!
