We spent new Year’s eve at home. No hurrying and scurrying, no fuss. Just the two of us and the cat, who hid under the guest room bed all evening .
I cannot say it was a QUIET evening though. Some just could not wait to try their fireworks until midnight and the place sounded like a war zone most of the day!
Not that we let it bother us! We spent New Year’s Eve like we used to do when there was no television, we had some good music on the radio to listen to. Surprise gifts from my husband, a bottle of bubbly and some good food. I had made some preparations in the morning and the previous day, so I did not have to spend too much time in the kitchen and still have some good looking delicious food on our plates.
We did not want or need anything else…
At midnight we went outside on the balcony to look at the fireworks.
I made a video of it. Enjoy …
Happy New Year!
I hope 2010 brings you everything you’re hoping for, and even more …
I hope you had a wonderful time too. What did you do?

Happy new year sis! In reasonable good health, with lots of joy, happiness and love and cosy moments together!
Big hug!
your little sister
Happy New Year and I enjoyed your fireworks video and your dinner looks wonderful. We ate Chinese food and then went to see a movie and home to watch the ball drop in Times Square in NY city on TV. Hubby was born on New Years day so today we celebrate his big day!

Happy New Year Jientje!!! Here's wishing you and your family a great 2010. I have enjoyed looking at your photographs and reading your blog this past year and look forward to visiting with you in the coming year.
Enjoyed your picture today of the food you ate. You really do know how to live.
I spent the whole evening and early morning hours with family...quietly seeing the new year in with a movie, music, food and wine.
I wish you a most wonderful 2010 Jientje!!!
Happy New year to you too ! I had enough of spending New Year at home with "the two of us" We had a nice supper together then I went with my friend Ilona to Brussels first in the Casino, having fun and gambling a bit and then watching the beautiful firework downtown ! Was really great and we had a lot of fun !
What a treat! I went to bed early so I missed all the fireworks, your video was a treat to watch, thank you!!!

We did close to the same. Every couple hours we prepared and ate a course of our meal and then watched some television. It was a quiet oudejaarsavond.
Happy 2010
We had a war zone here, too! My house filled with sulfur fumes. Nevertheless, we look forward to a great 2010 and wish the same for the two of you.
Happy New Year Jientje, all the best wished for 2010
