About Me

Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Gone Fishing …

Heehee, you did not really think I have time for that did you?
No, the truth is, I will be taking the weekend off from blogging.
My things to do list keeps getting longer, I really really need some time to finish a couple of projects. Top priority is my lace, I need to run some errands AND we’re planning one last trip to Bokrijk Museum Park on Sunday. After this weekend the park closes until December, AND the weather gods have promised one last summery weekend. With Winter quickly approaching, we need to enjoy all the sun we can get!

It feels a bit weird though. After all these years of daily posts, it kind of makes me feel guilty, like I’m deserting the army or something.
I’ve never skipped a day before, not even when I’m on holiday ...

On the other hand, merely writing this message does take a load off my back.
I’ll see you all again on Monday.

Enjoy the weekend!

Enjoy your weekend of 'fishing' !!
Your posts always make me smile - thanks!! Loved your 'original' window! Not the face peering through your latest one!!
BTW - my DIL is improving, thank heavens! My son was there when test results came in, finally, but he asked me not to 'spread the name of virus around the world' until they have confirmation from the specialist. At least they know what it is now, and can be treated. good news!

I have seen that blue sky in many Dutch paintings (1600s), and you have captured it too. Such a beautiful blue. Hope you have a nice weekend, Enjoy.

I know what you mean, if I am going to miss a day or two of posting, I feel sort of guilty, like I'm letting someone down. That seems so weird when I really think about it. Anyway, my life has been very busy lately and I just haven't had time to post anything decent in a couple of days now.

Enjoy your time! Your followers will always come back to feast their eyes on your photos.

It's so wonderful that you are going to go out and make the most of your weekend. I'm a daily blogger, too. It really does feel like cheating somehow when a day is missed. I do enjoy that you blog daily as I love to read daily :)

@ all my faithul ones: Thanks for your visits, and the comments you left here for me.
My weekend was very busy, and unfortunately, there was this horrible Mr Murphy who juggled all the things I had planned. Something "came up" and we had to change our plans. We did not get to Bokrijk after all. I had a wonderful day on Saturday, and a very stressy Sunday because I did not get everything done the way I planned. Aahh well. There is always a new day the next morning eh? Thanks for all your wonderful words. They DO mean a lot to me!!!

LOL and I feel guilty when I don't post once a week! LOLOLOL oh my goodness, it is like a drug of some kind isn't it. What in the world will you do when you come to the states....you will be sooo busy you won't have time to post daily! I am so excited for your holiday for you. Is this your first visit to the states? Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

@ lisa: It's not far from where I live. I
@ Linda Higgins: I have no idea what I'm going to do when I'm there. Maybe just a quick word to let you guys know what I'm up to, I don't know. I'm taking a baby computer with me, but I do not intend to sit behind that screen all day. Maybe in the evenings? The people I'm visiting are all bloggers too, we'll have to see how this all works out!
No, it's NOT my first visit to the States. I was in Florida seventeen years ago. I'm very excited to see the REAL America this time, and visit people at home. It's going to be very different this time!
