About Me

Antwerp, Belgium
Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Weekly Winners, Playing with Light

logo wwfinal

I’ve always been fascinated by beautiful light. Trying to capture it can be a bit of a challenge, so I have been playing with my camera again this week…

Glowing …

Enchanted forest

Still life with quince

It’s crappy but I like it

September sunshine

This morning was a very foggy morning so I took my camera for a walk. Arriving just in time to capture this gorgeous early morning glow.

Autumn leaves on a misty morning

Keeping me company

Mother Nature’s DOF.

I liked your faded young man. He looks a bit ghostly. I also especially enjoyed your ghost pictures.

Beautiful pictures! I can tell you like your photography class and must be learning a lot. I bet Antwerp is interesting right now with Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur.

The sunrise shot is gorgeous. I really like the fog snaps too. The next to last one, the b/w, is my favorite.

Jientje I love the angle of the draping flowers, the shadows on the quince, the boat mirroring itself, and the lone curled leaf! All are great!

Nice pictures. A picture can be out of focus and speak volumes as well as create a mood. Glad to hear you are enjoying your classes.

I was trying the same thing this week only my results were poor, unlike yours. These are really nice. I enjoyed this very much.

Light can make really make a picture pop can't it? I think it is one of the most difficult aspects to capture. At least for me. You've done a very good job.

My favorite is "glowing", then the sun glow, then the leaf one.

Nice.

I think you need to put your pictures together into a lovely coffee table book! I'd buy it in an instant. They are gorgeous. And I do really like your "crappy" one too although the leaves with the blue sky background and the last one are my favorites. You have a real eye for capturing things that the rest of us would just walk by.
