About Me

Antwerp, Belgium
Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Ooh I wish you had room at the table for me...or that your table wasn't quite so far away.

Fresh pasta is the best. Nice shots. Love the motion.

Nice photos. As for fresh pasta, I am like the city child that thought milk came from a bottle because he had never seen a cow. Yes, I know about home made pasta, but I don't think I have ever had it.

Mmmm, yum, again. Those eggs look beautiful.

This is totally off topic but are you excited for your trip to the States??
I think you'll be there while I am, actually, which is sort of ironic.

Mmmmm Bet it's some of the best pasta one could have!

I always love catching up with you and your camera. I've been helping my aunt at school and have gotten so behind on reading blogs. Love the witch in the earlier post and the beautiful cow models in the other one! The dinner sounds like it was lots of fun! Have a safe trip to the USA and Happy Birthday whenever it is!! I have one coming up Oct 23, not older just better like fine wine!! Love ya!!

Today is food day! I have made pasta a few times, it is delicious! But the working together to accomplish a yummy goal is best!

Wow! Homemade pasta. The only time I made pasta (egg noodles, really), I had to just cut them and lay them to dry. No fancy machine (which I now covet).

Melli said...

Ohhhhh I LOVE some of those blurry shots! Shows the real action happening!

Oh man, this makes me hungry! I really need to learn how to make homemade pasta, because I love ravioli and can't have it since Emma and Peter have to eat gluten-free.

What a GREAT pictorial, Jientje!! And homemade pasta? I've GOT to get into that. I even have an attachment on my Kitchenaid although it can't match yours there. REALLY love the story told here.

@ hip chick : That would be so nice!
@ Wanda : Exactly, that's what that evening was all about.
@ Gattina :A man who can cook? I admire that in a man.
@ Secret Mom Thoughts : The motion was what I was trying to catch in these pictures.
@ moneythoughts : Homemade anything is delicious. We tend to forget about that too much.
@ Nessa : And the pasta was delicious!
@ Lilacspecs: Ia am!!Very excited, and a little anxious as well. Ironic? You're the one who dragged me into this blogosphere, remember?
@ secret agent mama : You bet!
@ Becky: Welcome back Becky!! It's YOUR birthday on Oct 23? Mine is tomorrow, oct 20th!!
@ Thom: It was spinach, we made cannelloni con ricotta e spinachi! Yum!
@ Joyce : It was all very delicious, the pasta AND the wine!
@ Dimple :I agree, it's the best there is! Nothing can beat it!
@ Willow : The pasta machine was an heirloom from an Italian aunt, which makes it even more special.
@ Melli : That's exactly what I wanted!
@ Jacki: It's fun, you'd love it! And I'm sure there must be a gluten free way around it? If there is, you're clever enough to find it, I'm sure!
@ Robynn: It's not that hard to make, but very satisfying!
What a GREAT pictorial, Jientje!! And home
@ Eve : So do I!
@ quilly : Don't worry about that, we'll deal with this, I'm sure we will!
