Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Macro Monday, An Eye For an Eye ...

I wanted to try something different for this Macro Monday.
No macro this time, but close ups.

I zoomed in a little to get a close up of the horse's eye ...

The second one on the other hand is from a cute donkey who became very friendly with me. In fact, he stood so close it was hard to photograph anything but his eye!

Oh ! I love donkeys, beautiful pictures ! You know that the Morrocans call them the 2CV of the desert ?

You've really captured a lot of emotion in the horse's eye. He looks so sad.

These are cute. I like animal eye shots!

These are great photos. You do so good with these macros. Hope you had a great weekend :)

The horse's closeup makes him appear so forlorn and sad and the donkey seems to be lost in his thoughts...

It is really HARD to get nice clear shots of wiggly subjects when zoomed in OR when they are that close! YOU did an excellent job!!!

I believe you could have taken a picture of either end of the horse and made it a beautiful shot. I love your pictures!

I vote for the donkey! I like those things - they have charachter that is so everyday person - horses are bit elite :)

That donkey has some great lashes!

I thought a macro was a close up - obviously I was wrong; D

Very fascinating shots.

Such lovely eyes. For some reason, they look so gentle and sweet.

Heavy sigh. Wonderful pictures! Not just the horses, but the people below as well. Is there anything you don't excel at?

I like both but the first one has some great color in it and it looks so sorrowful!

Jientje, when I scrolled down to your horse photograph actually caught my breath it was so wonderful. Wish I could be your student!

@ Gattina: They do, and I have never seen as many as I've seen when I was in Morocco!
@ Robin: I don't think it was sad though. They were constantly being fed grass and flowers by children passing by!
@ Nicole: Me too, although it's harder than I thought!
@ Thom: The weekend was wonderful. Thank you!
@ Wanda: I love your observation, but as I said, I don't think the horse was sad. But the eye looks sad, that's true!
@ Melli: Yes, true. It was harder than I thought!
@ Caution Flag: Either end? LOL!
@ Ellievellie: The donkey was sweet, so true!
@ Lisa: I love eyelashes! Cows have them too, but I haven't succeeded taking a good picture of those yet!
@ Nessa: Depends on how you look at it. When I get real close with my lens on super macro function, - less than a cm - I call it macro. Anything else ( zoomed in or normal macro ) is close up? That's how I see it?
@ Margie: This one really made me smile!
@ Sandy: Yes, they are.
@ Lou: When they want to snuggle up to you, and want a nibble and a bite, I guess you could call that "very friendly" ? Hmmm??
@ Susan at Stony River: Thank you!
@ Quildancer: I managed to screw up most of the pictures I made last Sunday! Does that answer your question?
@ Amanda: Funny how everyone thinks that the horse was sad!
@ Faye: I still need to learn SO much myself!
@ Regina: Thanks, although I hate to use the word "shot" when I refer to horses! LOL!
@ Christine: They were sweet, so true!
@ Rosidah: You too my friend!
