About Me

Welcome to the new, and improved version of Heaven in Belgium. I am Jientje. "Jientje", like the boys name Gene, followed by "chu"? "Gene-chu", that's how you pronounce my name. Yes!!!!That's it!! So now you know huh? I am an addicted blogger. I was born and raised and am still living in Belgium. Yeah, the "this-is- Tuesday-so-this-must-be-Brussels" kind of Belgium .. There, you see? Maybe you couldn't find it on the map, but at least I'm trying to change that a little by sharing lots of pictures. I really love to cook and create new things, like this blog for instance. I am a mother,a grandmothe and a wife too! They say I'm a traveler, and a photographer. Well that's just what they say, I love to make pictures, but I am far from professional ... If my English is not perfect, that would be because it's my second language. I do hope you'll forgive me any possible misspellings or strange vocabulary ... Now, as a result of all of the above, I get way too little sleep and my days are always much too short!

Weekend Reflection, After the Rain

James, over at Newton Area Photo hosts a new meme called Weekend Reflections.

This is what James wants us to do:

1)Post a reflection photograph
2)After I post my Weekend Reflections photo, add your name, country and link to MckLinky
3)Be sure that your link goes directly to your Weekend Reflections post.
4)Comment on other Weekend reflections participant's blogs.
Feel free to be creative. Remember this meme is for any type of reflection.

My photography class organized an early morning photo walk today. I was really looking forward to this. We’ve had severe rainy showers during the night, so I was hoping to find a couple of photogenic puddles. I’m always looking for reflections
in puddles. When you’re from the land of the rainy people,  you get to develop this habit! When I came across this gate, I knew this would be my Weekend Reflections photo.

Have a great weekend!

I'm back. I know how you like to post pictures with lyrics. Have you ever heard the song "Rainy Day People" by Gordon Lightfoot?

This is a perfect reflection. I am also of the rain people and we also have puddles, but I haven't seen such a photo like yours yet! Have a great weekend.

It's a very nice picture, and I agree with Betty that the gate has seen better days. The reflection could not see a better day, however!

@ Ms. Fiddlesticks : How nice to meet you! I was born and raised in Bruges, it's still my favorite town.
@ moneythoughts : Thanks Fred, I'm very happy with that one too.
@ Betty : That's a question of taste, I think that's what makes this fence photogenic!
@ Melli : Hmmm, Swap places then?
@ Regina : Thanks!
@ Gattina : It's fun!
@ kaye : True. Living in Belgium, we have to live with rainy days, and make the most of them...

@ Crafty Green Poet : Yeah, I fell in love with it the moment I saw it!
@ quilly : I'm quite happy with this one. One of the few from that walk though.

@ Dimple: I love the creativity of some farmers.
@ James : The minute I saw it I loved this!
